Line Operator form
Big Picture: This form is used in the process of creating vessel visits.
The Line Operator form enables you to add and edit a line operator. In addition, use the Line Operator form to assign agents, and set booking and storage rules, as well as define port restrictions for the selected line operator.
To add or edit a line operator:
In the Id field, enter an ID that uniquely identifies the line operator.
Specify optional information and any notes for the line operator.
Click Save.
You must save a new line operator before you can assign agents, set booking and storage rules, or specify port restrictions for the line operator.
The following table lists the various optional fields in the Line Operator form:

Master Organization |
Select a master organization for the selected line operator. You can only select a master organization that exists at the current scope level. Use the Master Organization form to add a new master organization. |
Name |
Enter the name of the line operator. |
Credit Status |
Select one of the following credit status for the business entity:
The Credit Status determines whether the business entity can provide storage guarantee. In N4, only business entities with the On account credit customer credit status can provide storage guarantees. |
SCAC Code |
Enter the Standard Carrier Alpha Code for the line operator. |
BIC Code |
Enter the Bureau International des Containers et du Transport Code for the line operator. The SCAC and BIC codes are used to identify the line operator in EDI messages. |
Is Operator |
Select the check box if the line operator is also an equipment operator. |
Is Owner |
Select the check box if the line operator is also an equipment owner. Most line operators are both equipment operator and equipment owner. |
Guarantee Limit |
Enter the maximum amount the line operator can guarantee for a unit. |
Contact Email Address |
Enter the e-mail address for the line operator. N4 validates the email address format and accepts only the email addresses that are entered in the '[email protected]' format (for example: [email protected]). N4 does not accept an email address that:
N4 allows you to use an apostrophe anywhere in the recipient's name in an email address, such as O'[email protected]. |
Contact Name |
Enter the name of the contact person for the line operator. |
Contact Address Line1 |
Enter the first line of the mailing address. |
Contact Address Line2 |
Enter the second line of the mailing address. |
Contact Address Line3 |
Enter the third line of the mailing address. |
Contact City |
Enter the mailing address city. |
Contact Country |
Select the country for the mailing address. |
Contact State |
Select the state for the mailing address. The lookup list displays the states defined for the selected country. To add a state, use the States tab in the Country form for the selected country. |
Contact Mail Code |
Enter the Mail/Zip code. |
Contact Telephone |
Enter the telephone number. |
Contact Fax |
Enter the Fax number. |
Contact SMS |
Enter the SMS number. |
Contact Website URL |
Enter the URL for the website of the line operator. |
Notes |
Enter any miscellaneous notes for the line operator. |
